  7. With uShare UNIX computers are departmental computers for groups of Macintosh
  8. and MS-DOS users -- through network services based on UNIX and Apple networking
  9. protocols, Ethernet and LocalTalk. The uShare environment looks like: a
  10. Macintosh to Macintosh users; a MS-DOS computer to MS-DOS users; and UNIX to
  11. UNIX users -- but with a sharing of network serivces and data. uShare is the
  12. standard for Mac-to-UNIX connectivity

  14. Services from uShare include: A File Server based on Apple Filing Protocols
  15. (AFP) that can be used by Macintosh; MS-DOS and UNIX users for natural
  16. connectivity across these different operating systems; A Software Server that
  17. legally allows multiple Mac users to share Macintosh software for much lower
  18. software costs; A Network Based Back-up and Restore for Macintosh and MS-DOS
  19. computers; a common Print Spooler; E-Mail; and the Server can be administered
  20. through a Macintosh application, without UNIX knowledge required by the
  21. administrator.
